Working Principle:

The TFP401APZP utilizes a 24-bit, horizontal-drive approach to manage the interface between the display and the controller. The operation of the interface is divided into three distinct stages: the Video Data Conversion (VDC) stage, the Video Driver Interface (VDI) stage and the Pixel Multiplexer stage.In the VDC stage, the digital video image is translated into its analog equivalent through the use of pulse-width modulation, while other parameters such as color palette, brightness, contrast and saturation are set.The VDI stage entails the generation of several timing signals, including hSync, vSync, and pixel clock, which are necessary for synchronizing the operation between the display and the controller. The timing signals are based on the Horizontal Drive TTL (HDTTL) standard.The Pixel Multiplexer stage consists of a 32-bit data bus which transfers the data from the display to the controller. The data is transferred in blocks of 8-bit pixels and both the controller and the display must agree on the data speed.
