The TFR24PH10 is a rectangular, metal-shell connector with a 10-pin, 24-row pitch configuration. These robust and reliable connectors provide secure contacts between the printed circuit boards (PCBs) and other components.The shell, which is made from drawn steel, provides mechanical strength and a reliable electrical ground path. It also helps protect the contacts from external contamination and helps provide EMC protection. The housings are available in multi-pin configurations, with different pin numbers from 10 to 114. The contactpins are rated for 2A and use gold flashed terminal plating for long-term resistance to mating cycles and surface contaminants, providing for a long-life reliable connection. The pins are designed to be removable from the blade in the event of physical damage or contamination, simply by using a pair of tweezers or needle-nose pliers to grip the pin and pull it out. The TFR24PH10 connector offers excellent features to meet the latest designs and applications. The housing and contact pins are both light weight and of sturdy construction, along with its EMI/RFI shielding and contact retention. To use the TFR24PH10 in an application, the user must first select the correct mating receptacles and plug connectors to the desired configuration. The connector is then inserted into the corresponding mating receptacle. The mating cavities consist of two adjacent signal rows and one power row, which provides the power path between the printed circuit board (PCB) and the connector. The shield is used to provide EMC shielding and is attached to the receptacle via either a nut or a screw. The contact cage, which consists of 24 pins and 24 sockets, is then placed into the contact chamber within the connector. The contact cage is firmly fastened to the connector with a pair of pins. The cage helps keep the contact pins firmly in place within the housing and helps the contacts achieve a secure connection to the PCB. The contact pins are then wired from the PCB to the connector in order to establish the connection between the contacts and the PCB. The contact pins are then held in place with a pair of tweezers or with a needle-nose pliers. The shield is then securely connected to the PCB via either a screw or a nut.
