The THS4222EVM is a flexible and powerful evaluation board, used for testing out either or both of the dual-channel THS4222 op-amps. Developed by Texas Instruments, this evaluation board provides a set of versatile terminals for various combinations of temperature-compensated gain, single-ended or differential inputs and outputs, multiple power-supply configurations and also thermal resistance measurements. The evaluation board comes with a complete array of features and with the ability to generate waveforms for carry out both step and frequency domain response tests.
The THS4222EVM\'s applications include amplifiers, filters, signal conditioners, data converters, automation control systems, audio systems and so on. It can also be used for designing and building various types of multi-channel amplifiers. With its ability to accurately measure current across a wide frequency range, this evaluation board can also be used to provide data for high speed analog designs. Finally, the THS4222EVM also allows designers to evaluate multiple-stage systems and offers them the versatility of using both single-ended and differential inputs and outputs.
The working principle of the THS4222EVM is fairly straightforward. The device consists of two independent input lines, two reference lines, two output lines and a current sensing line. Each one of the four lines has an associated terminal (SOUT, SREF, SIN and SNS) which can be used to measure either the input or output voltage or the bias current of the device. The two output lines can also be used to measure the differential output voltage of the device.
The two input lines are used to apply an input voltage to the op-amp, while the two reference lines are used to provide a reference voltage. The two output lines are then used to measure the output voltage of the op-amp. The current sensing line can also be used to measure the bias current of the device. Finally, the two output lines can be used to measure the differential output voltage of the device.
In order to measure current across a wide frequency range, the evaluation board has an embedded high-speed, low-noise precision amplifier which is used to monitor current flowing through the device. This amplifier is connected to a high-speed analog-to-digital converter, allowing the device to accurately measure current across a wide frequency range. Additionally, the THS4222EVM also has temperature-sensitive resistors and temperature probes, which can be used to measure temperature-compensated gain, single-ended or differential inputs and outputs.
The THS4222EVM provides a versatile platform for testing out the THS4222 op-amp and is an ideal tool for designing and building multi-channel amplifiers.
