The TIL113S1 series of opto-isolators provides excellent isolation between input and output circuits for a wide variety of applications.An opto-isolator, or optical isolator, is a type of electronic component used to improve the performance or increase the safety of an electronic circuit or device. It is an optical isolated device whose operation is based on the photo electric effect, which causes the electric current of source circuits to be generated in the load circuits when the optical signals are converted to electrical signals. This device is mainly used to protect the input circuits from the output circuits.The TIL113S1 series opto-isolator consists of a photosensitive gate optically coupled to a voltage regulator transistor. The photosensitive gate is an input while the voltage regulating transistor is an output. The opto-isolator works on the principle of photoelectric effect, wherein, the light emitted by the LED present in the opto-isolator is converted into electric current when it falls on the base of the transistor. When the LED emits light, it provides the primary electrical isolation and redirects the input signal to the output stage, thus achieving a high degree of isolation between input and output stages.The primary features of the TIL113S1 opto-isolator are small size and low cost. Furthermore, these opto-isolators provide a high voltage rating up to 7500V rms between input and output and a high degree of noise immunity. The devices are designed to ensure a tight output voltage regulation against temperature variation. The series is also tolerant to EMC disturbances, making it well adapted to those applications requiring high noise immunity.The TIL113S1 series is available in a variety of packages and can be used to protect input and output circuits from electrical noise and improve signal integrity. This series can also provide an additional level of protection in applications which require high voltage isolation. Examples of applications include analog and digital circuit protection, digital to analog signal isolation, audio input signal leveling, and electric noise suppression.The TIL113S1 series is an important member of the opto-isolator family providing electrical isolation between digital, analog, and high voltage circuits.
