The gate pulse determines the switching of the MOV. The sense circuit monitors the current through the MOV to prevent it from overloading. It utilizes an internal overcurrent protection mechanism to shut down the switch once the current reaches the rated value. The TISP3125F3DR also includes a zero trigger capability to turn off the thyristor in the instance of an external voltage being supplied. It also includes a temperature measurement mechanism to shut down the switch when the temperature exceeds the rated capacity.
