Proximity sensors are sensing devices that generate a response when an object or substance moves into a detection area, or moves away from it. The Typical output field of definition for general purpose proximity sensors is usually subdivided into four different areas; photoelectric sensors, ultra-sonic sensors, capacitive sensors and inductive Proximity detectors.TL-T2E2 application and working principle can be classified as one of the four types of proximity sensors. Generally, these sensors work by emitting a beam of light either infrared or visible, and measuring the amount of light that hits their photodetectors. Depending on the object’s size, shape, position and intensity of light, the photodetectors can detect the objects in the measurement area and trigger a switch. In addition, these sensors are also capable of measuring the distance between them and the object.The TL-T2E2 sensor is an innovative model with high-performance for both measuring and sensing. This sensor is available in two configurations: analog and digital. The analog output provides analog voltage or current for long distances with accuracy of up to 1% and can detect objects up to a maximum distance of 150 m. The digital output provides a low output current in open collector and can detect objects up to a maximum distance of 75 m. Both outputs are suitable for different application, and are capable of operating in harsh environments without risk of damage due to shock and vibration.In terms of working principle, this sensor works by receiving infra-red light from the object in its viewing area. It then uses this light to create a reflective beam that is transmitted back to the phototransistor. The phototransistor then measures this reflective beam and sends it to the amplifier. The amplifier then amplifies the signals and sends it to the controller unit. The controller unit then compares the received signals with the pre-set threshold signal, and if the received signal is beyond the set threshold, the controller will generate an output, which is usually a signal for the detection of the object.TL-T2E2 requires less power to operate and is very durable. This makes it suitable for applications in medical and industrial fields. The sensor is capable of detecting even the smallest objects in the detection area with precision. Furthermore, due to its compact size, it can be mounted almost anywhere. In conclusion, TL-T2E2 belongs to the sensing family of proximity sensors.
