This amplifier is well suited for high-speed signal processing, instrumentation applications and general purpose amplifying and buffering applications.The TLC080CDR is an integrated circuit (IC) made up of bipolar-LNA technology and it is also capable of being used in single and dual supply configurations, from 2V to 12V. This range of linear amplifiers provides high gain and wide bandwidth, low noise levels and high output current capabilities.The primary application fields of this amplifier are instrumentation, RF amplifying and buffering. Its high performance makes it suitable for many demanding applications, such as high-speed analog and digital signal processing, radio frequency engineering, image processing, biomedical applications, precision measuring and communication systems.The working principle of the TLC080CDR is quite simple. It is designed to amplify input signals while keeping them linear and distortion-free. This is done by using a high-gain, high-bandwidth, high-frequency amplifier. This circuit contains a differential input stage, a DC gain stage and an output stage.The differential input stage amplifies the signal voltage by a base-to-collector current gain of about twenty dB. The DC gain stage amplifies the input signal by a voltage gain of approximately 50 V/V. The output stage then amplifies the signal to an even higher level and drives the output signal.The TLC080CDR can operate in both single- and dual-supply configurations. In the single-supply configuration, the amplifier is powered by a single supply voltage. This configuration is commonly used in signal processing applications such as image processing, where the input signal may be in the range of 0.2V to 1V and the output signal can range from 4V to 12V.In the dual-supply configuration, the amplifier is powered by two separate supply voltages.
