TLC2932IPW is an advanced, low-power clock generator and phase-locked loop (PLL) circuit with embedded voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) design. This device features multipeak tracked CDMA, spread spectrum, and frequency synthesis capabilities. It is offered as a low-power, complete monolithic solution for integrated frequency-diversity and CDMA applications.

TLC2932IPW works by generating an accurate, predictable, low-jitter clock signal from an internal VCO. This clock signal is then calibrated and fine-tuned by the PLL circuitry, which employs a type of spread spectrum clock generation known as “multi-peak tracking” or “frequency hopping”. PLLs provide improved phase lock accuracy and jitter reduction; they also generate a wide range of frequencies that can be used to ensure interoperability among different components.

TLC2932IPW also features an embedded high-speed spreading or “frequopping” feature, and is able to lock onto signals with a frequency range of up to 1 MHz.
