TLC5944PWPR

The TLC5944PWPR (Texas Instruments TLC5944PWPR) is an LED driver that is part of the family of configurable Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMIC) from Texas Instruments. Working Principle of TLC5944PWPR

TLC5944PWPR is configured through 4 software selectable voltages and 4 general purpose pins. It includes an on-chip reference voltage, allowing adjustable dimming of LEDs with a very small step size. As a part of its operation, the TLC5944PWPR also has thermo-threshold protection to prevent over-temperature conditions. It also has an LED LED safety reset circuit to protect LED chips in case of over-temperature conditions.

On the output side, each PWM channel can be configured either in Push-Pull or Open Drain mode. Push-Pull mode allows for a wider dynamic range of dimming, while Open Drain mode offers the advantage of providing a greater power saving capability. Additionally, the TLC5944PWPR is protected against short circuits and fault detection via the Fault Pin.
