Common Mode Chokes
Common mode chokes, or CMC, are electric-magnetic components mainly used for limiting and damping of differential-mode current. CMCs are also applicable in filtering applications that have low-frequency noise. CMCs are a kind of inductor usually consisting of one or two winding of coil, and one or two cores. CMCs are often used to suppress harmonic interference and coupling current in the area of power line device, because they are able to reduce or cut off the flow of the common-mode current, which is believed to directly cause such types of interference.

TLF14CBH3330R3 Working Principle
The working principle of TLF14CBH3330R3 is based on differentiating between the two modes of electromagnetic current, namely, the common mode current and the differential mode current. Differential mode means that the current flows in the same direction on both sides of the toroidal core, i.e., symmetric current. Common mode current is defined as an asymmetric current, which means that the current on each side is flow in different direction. TLF14CBH3330R3 works by inhibiting the common mode current while allowing the differential mode current to pass.
When the current in both wires is the same, meaning a common mode current is flowing, the magnetic fields created by the two wires cancel each other out and the core of the inductor will not have to magnetize.
