The TLHG6401 is a discrete LED indicator that features red, green, yellow and blue options and operates at a voltage of 2.25V to 3.4V. The working principle of the TLHG6401 is based on the use of electricity to power the light-emitting diode (LED). The LED works by creating light when current passes through it. The TLHG6401 consists of a filament of doped gallium arsenide phosphide (GaAsP) embedded in an acrylic body, creating the light and red, green, yellow and blue colors. The TLHG6401 is actually a regular diode component encapsulated in a special LED housing that shows the LED\'s intended illumination.
The TLHG6401 includes an anode and a cathode. When the polarity of the current is placed in the appropriate direction, the electrons in the anode combine with the holes located in the cathode and emit the light created by combining the two compounds.
