TLK3104SAGNT Application Field and Working Principle
TLK3104SAGNT is a transceiver, which is commonly used in data communication, to achieve transmission and reception of data in different circumstances.In its application field, TLK3104SAGNT is usually used in applications such as LAN, SAN, WAN, and industrial Ethernet network. Other applications include medical applications such as medical imaging networks, patient monitoring systems, and others. As TLK3104SAGNT can have a working temperature between -40℃ to 105℃, it is even used in some extreme circumstances as well.Meanwhile, TLK3104SAGNT is also used in non-communication related applications. These application fields could be found in military and aerospace applications, as well as in FPGA or ASIC designs for automotive network applications.To understand the working principle of TLK3104SAGNT, we have to look at its basic switch configuration – different from traditional RO (Receive Only) and TX (Transmit only) which is used in classic transceivers. In TLK3104SAGNT, it is a RO/TX +RO/TX architecture – means there is one pair of Rx/Tx at both sides available. We can adjust the control switch to change the position of M/A & S/D, so as to control the flow of data as we wish.Firstly, Control Switch is used to position Rx / Tx to their right place. For example, when we want to receive data, the switch is positioned to S/D. As a result, transmitter is disabled while receiver becomes the major focus in this architecture. This will enable the receiver section of TLK3104SAGNT, and the incoming data from M/A side can be successfully received. On the other hand, when we want to transmit data, the switch is positioned to M/A, or Master and Auto-negotiation. By doing so, the transmitter section of TLK3104SAGNT is enabled and the data from S/D side can be successfully sent to the destination.Besides the configuration of Control Switch, there is also the Auto-Negotiation function. In normal circumstances, we can just keep the switch at the M/A position and have the data flow auto-negotiated. That is, the receiver and transmitter will access the auto-negotiated state and adjust their characteristics accordingly, such as transfer rate, line coding, etc. In conclusion, the TLK3104SAGNT transceiver is a powerful tool used in a variety of applications, thanks to its special switch configuration and auto-negotiation of the data flow.
