TLV1117LV18 is a general-purpose low-dropout (LDO) voltage regulator which has been designed to provide a current of up to 250mA and a voltage of 1.8V with a dropout voltage of 0.6V at this output current. It belongs to the family of linear voltage regulators which have gained increased popularity in a wide range of applications due to its better performance than switching regulators when operating at low input voltages and currents. This also makes them suited for low-noise and high-precision power supply designs, in contrast to the complex designs associated with switcher regulators.
