When the output voltage is higher than the programmed voltage, the error amplifier reduces the voltage at the gate of the P-channel MOSFET, reducing the flow of current through the transistors which in turn reduces the output voltage. When the output voltage is lower than programmed voltage, the error amplifier increases the voltage at the gate of the P-channel MOSFET, increasing the flow of current through the transistors and increasing the output voltage. In this way, the error amplifier accurately regulates the output voltage.

Protection Features

The TLV70311DBVR is designed with features that protect the device in critical situations. The device features an Under Voltage Lock Out (UVLO) which shuts off the device if the input voltage drops below the voltage specified by the user. The device also has an Over Temperature Shutdown (OTS) feature, which shuts off the device when the junction temperature of the device exceeds the specified junction temperature.
