TM266DCA2 is an integrated circuit manufactured by Texas Instruments (TI). It is a programmable dual IEEE 1394a-2000 interface bridge, designed to facilitate two-way communication between both the controller and device busses. Working Principle

On the controller side, the TM266DCA2 can generate a physical layer configuration ROM that includes both physical layer node information and the configurable address of up to five nodes.

The device side of the TM266DCA2 utilizes a low-power state-machine interface to provide asynchronous communications with node processors. The device side of the TM266DCA2 also includes support for both synchronized and asynchronous arbitration announcements, link configuration change notifications, and timeslot management.

The TM266DCA2 is designed to route both isochronous and asynchronous traffic automatically between devices and the controller. It also supports daisy-chain topologies and can be conditioned by configuring the TM266DCA2 operating state either automatically or manually.

The device supports multiple operating modes, which are controlled by configuring the processor bit settings. These include direct connection, daisy-chain, and full peer-to-peer transactional data-transfer capabilities. The TM266DCA2 also supports isochronous receive and transmit streaming, asynchronous packet-oriented receive, and transmit.

The TM266DCA2 includes a programmable link layer controller (LLC) that is responsible for establishing and maintaining the isochronous and asynchronous stations as well as for providing link layer protocol services. The TM266DCA2 has both a DMA-engine and a DPHY controller that allows for low power and high performance transfers between devices over a daisy-chain topology.

The TM266DCA2 also supports link power management and power savings at the node and system levels. The device can be programmed to adjust frequency and data rate depending on the data load. It also supports low-power modes providing dynamic power management.
