This evaluation and demonstration board and kit uses a Texas Instruments TMC1420-Q1 integrated multi-function motor driver. The evaluation board provides four integrated gate driver channels with plus or minus 40V protection, allowing an efficient and cost-effective development of motor driver systems with single-shunt current sensing, internal fault management, and thermal protection. The drivers are designed to efficiently drive brushless DC motors, stepper motors, and three-phase induction motors.
The motor driver is designed to drive a 12V motor up to 6A, a 24V motor up to 4A, and a 48V motor up to 3A. The evaluation system supports adjustable current references, making it possible to adjust the torque of the motor. The system also supports adjustable speed settings, so users can precisely set the speed of the motor. Moreover, the system has an adjustable slew rate and sleep mode input, which allows users to adjust the speed and power consumption of the motor.

There are two digital pins configured with two potentiometers that allow for on-the-fly selection and adjustment of the current reference, motor speed, and motor slew rate.
