The TPL5111EVM is an ideal evaluation and demonstration board and kit that enables engineers and device developers to quickly and effectively test the key features and functionality of the Texas Instruments TPL5111 ultra-low power single channel timer family. The TPL5111EVM system is designed as a comprehensive solution with different hardware and software components to enable users to design, test, and verify their applications quickly.The TPL5111EVM consists of two physical components – the TPL5111 Timer Evaluation Board and an evaluation software package. The evaluation board includes function-specific, single-channel timer control and programming on-board an 8 pin DIP package (TSSOP16). On the evaluation board, TI\'s Nanopower Technology (NPT) is implemented in the TPL5111 device to enable very low active power consumption (< 0.3 mW) and very low sleep mode current down to 0.5µA. Additionally, the board contains decoupling and bypass capacitors to filter the power supply for the timer device and the board itself.The TPL5111EVM comes with a comprehensive evaluation software package for the users to program and control the evaluation board. The evaluation software is customized for the TPL5111EVM and the TPL5111 device and includes an example GUI which allows users to quickly set registers, configure and control the timer device. The software also provides clean user-friendly menus and settings which enable the user gain insight into the operation of the device and assess its performance. Furthermore, the software has debug functions which can be used to evaluate and verify their designs.The main application field of the TPL5111EVM are those related to energy harvesting and emerging markets such as medical, wearable and IoT-based applications.
