1. Describe
The TPS2551DBVR power distribution switches are suitable for applications where heavy capacitive loads and short circuits may be encountered, integrating a 100mΩ, N-channel MOSFET in a single package. The current limit threshold is user adjustable between 100 mA and 1.1 A through an external resistor. Control the rise and fall times of power switches to minimize current surges during switching. When the output load exceeds the current limit threshold or a short circuit occurs, the device limits the output current to the desired level by switching to constant current mode. An internal reverse voltage detection comparator disables the power switch when the output voltage is higher than the input voltage to protect the device on the input side of the switch. The FAULT logic output is asserted low during both overcurrent and reverse voltage conditions.
