In addition to the PWM-controlled continuous mode of operation, the TPS60100PWP offers a burst-mode operation, where the MOSFET switch is turned on and off in specific intervals, according to the commanded output voltage. This mode of operation reduces the amount of power dissipated in the MOSFET switch and allows the TPS60100PWP to enter a low power standby mode after a certain period of time.

The TPS60100PWP also features common features like thermal shut-down, input/output over-voltage protection, reverse battery protection, adjustable current limit, and soft-start.
