TPS60401DBVT is a Buck DC/DC converter with a high-frequency current-mode (CRM) PWM controller from Texas Instruments. This device provide a perfect power solution for wristwatch charger, digital camera, MP3 player and other battery-powered device. It offers full protection, high efficiency, low noise, low ripple and other excellent features.Application Field:TPS60401DBVT DC/DC converter is widely applied in battery charger and power management system. It can also be used in cell phones, medical device, portable audio and video entertainment device, consumer electronics, portable and remote instrument and portable medical device.Working Principle:TPS60401DBVT is a synchronousstep-up/step-down DC/DC converter with high frequency and current mode synchronous rectification and PFM/PWM operation. It consists of two internal switches, frequency and current sensing circuits, a band-gap reference, an oscillator and some control and logic circuitry. A high frequency control signal is fed to two internal switches at a frequency of up to 500kHz. The current mode control ensures a stable output voltage and current regulation over load transients. The high frequency switching reduces the losses in both switches and accordingly increases the efficiency of the converter. During the Buck mode operation,the output voltage is regulated by adjusting the conduction times of the switching transistors with the control signal. The voltage across the source and the sink current are monitored and the control parameter are adjusted accordingly.Conclusion:TPS60401DBVT DC/DC converter offers many beneficial features for a wide range of applications, such as low noise, high efficiency and full protection. It basically consists of two internal switches, frequency and current sensing circuits, a band-gap reference, an oscillator and some control and logic circuitry.
