The TPS61010 EVM-157 operates as an effective off-line, DC/DC & AC/DC switching power supply, in order to reduce component size while maintaining excellent dynamic load regulation. It is an extremely valuable tool for efficient use in a wide range of applications with high power demands, including telecommunication systems, industrial equipment, and automotive electronics.

The evaluation board operates in three different topologies. In flyback mode, it can deliver up to 2.2W continuous output power. In forward and synchronous modes, it can deliver up to 1.1W. Input voltages range from 30VDC to 70VDC and the output voltage is adjustable from 5V to 20V through an on-board potentiometer. Two sets of SOP-8 footprints are provided for the evaluation board: one for the Opto Coupler connected to a MOSFET and another for the PWM IC.

The TPS61010 EVM-157 also provides an adjustable frequency feature with output frequency ranging from 50kHz to 300kHz. A built-in temperature protection circuit shuts down the device should it reach its thermal limits.
