Working Principle

TPS61030RSAR is a synchronous step-down DC/DC converter with a wide range of input voltage (3V - 28V) and an output range of up to 3A. The constant voltage or current mode operation options are selectable via the EN pin. The P-Channel MOSFET switch is internally connected. It automatically enables the device when output voltage is within the preset range. The TPS61030RSAR then provides a constant current or constant voltage output according to the mode selected by the EN pin.

The device contains an internal loop compensation and therefore requires no external components for its operation. The TPS61030RSAR also features an over temperature protection, which limits the switch current when temperature exceeds 140℃. During this state, the output will be pulled down to 0V and then the device will enter thermal shutdown mode.
