Working Principle

The TPS61085DGKR is an integrated DC–DC switch mode power converter designed to operate as an adjustable current–source in buck or boost mode. It is a step up voltage regulator, regulating voltage between the input voltage and maximum output voltage. The device contains an internal output switch transistor and a low-quiescent current linear regulator. In the buck mode, the internal switch is constantly switched to increase the output voltage up to the voltage of the input source. In the boost mode, the internal switch is used to store energy from the input source and to increase the output voltage higher than the voltage of the input source.

The TPS61085DGKR also contains an integrated switching frequency optimized for high efficiency and low noise.
