The TPS61181AEVM-259 is an evaluation board intended to demonstrate the features and functionality of the TPS61181x family of LED drivers. This evaluation module consists of two induction bricks: the TPS61186 single-string, high power factor flyback driver, and the TPS61181 dual-string, high power factor flyback driver. The two chips are connected in parallel in this evaluation module, thus allowing the user to measure the power factor and high power efficiency achievable with both chips.

Working Principle

The TPS61181AEVM-259 works according to the following principle: the internal power MOSFETs switch on and off in a complemental PWM scheme, whereby the length of the on-time is precisely controlled by an internal algorithm.
