Working Principle

The TPS62160DGKR is a non-synchronous switching regulator which requires two current-mode controlled converters: a buck converter and a buck-boost converter. The buck converter operates in pulse width modulation (PWM) mode, with input voltage V IN greater than output voltage V OUT . The buck-boost converter, on the other hand, operates in continuous conduction mode with V IN lower than V OUT . The two converters are combined with the patented Dynamic Balanced Dimming (DBD) mode allowing both arms to work in parallel operation.
