Working Principle

The TPS62354YZGT is a synchronous PWM buck converter with an input voltage range of 3V to 30V and an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V up to 5.5V. It employs synchronous rectification to achieve higher efficiency than traditional converters. To optimize noise performance and transient response, adaptive loop compensation is employed.

At the core of the regulator is an oscillator whose frequency is set by an external resistor-capacitor network. The chip also features several safety features such as an output overcurrent protection, output over voltage protection, UVLO and thermal warning/shutdown protection.

The TPS62354YZGT supports the I2C or PMBus digital protocols and can be controlled by the processor or any other intelligent power management devices. The chip also features an adjustable soft-start to eliminate inrush current applications.
