Working Principle

The TPS62650YFFR consists of an internal p-channel MOSFET, an error-amplifier, a driver circuit and an over voltage protection circuit. When the power is turned on, the error amplifier starts charging the bootstrap capacitor via the small resistor connected at the bottom of the switch and the control loop is established. The error amplifier uses an internal error signal to control the gate of the p-channel MOSFET and decide theon/off state of the switch accordingly. The voltage across the output capacitor is monitored by the error amplifier to create an output voltage feedback loop. The output voltage is accurately regulated by the loop despite variations in operating voltage, output current, temperature and component tolerances.
