The TPS65132SEVM-866 is a Texas Instruments evaluation board for the TPS65132 DC-DC and AC-DC (Off-Line) SMPS converter.

The TPS65132SEVM-866 is a flexible and robust off-line SMPS device, capable of operating in a wide range of input voltages, from 100 VAC to 265 VAC. The device can also successfully operate high-efficiency buck or boost converters from a lower DC input voltages. It features Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control to achieve maximum efficiency for applications with fast transient load requirements and the ability to sequence multiple outputs and multiple power rails.

The TPS65132SEVM-866 evaluation board is capable of generating three separate outputs of 3.3 V, 5 V and 12 V from a single input source. It is capable of reaching the highest power levels among TI’s AC-DC flat packs with high power density and high efficiency. The TPS65132SEVM-866 uses a phase-shifted full-bridge topology and a high frequency PWM control loop to achieve high performance, low cost and high power density.

The operation of TPS65132SEVM-866 is based on two cascaded stages – the first stage receives an AC input voltage, rectifies and filters it, then generates a DC bus voltage, which is then regulated by the secondary stage.
