TPS65283RGER is a powerful integrated device with a high degree of integration that can provide the maximum output power of 10 W. Working Principle

TPS65283RGER is a high efficiency DC to DC converter that regulates an input voltage within the range of 4V to 32V to the programmed output voltage. It consists of three main components – a voltage controller, a step-down DCDC controller and low on-resistance FETs. The voltage controller generates the control signals for the two switches found in the circuit to necessarily switch them with a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) signal.

The controller uses the reference voltage connected on its REF pin as the comparison value and regulates an output voltage with a feedback. The PWM generated by the controller uses the Input Voltage (VIN) and the Output Voltage (VOUT) as the reference values. If there is a discrepancy between the reference voltage and the output voltage, the controller adjusts the duty cycle of the PWM output to maintain the VOUT within the programmed output voltage.

The two high and low FETs of the TPS65283RGER are both low on-resistance type and able to handle up to 12A of current for the maximum output power of 10W. Besides, its low ESR capacitors can greatly reduce ripple and noise which offers ultra-low output voltage noise in the load regulation.

The TPS65283RGER offers over current protection, thermal shut down and other important protection feature. It also provides an easy-to-implement power good signal that indicates the success of the power-on routine. If the output can\'t reach the programmed voltage, the power good signal will sag that warns the user to stop the system further operation.
