The working principle of TPS65820RSHT can be mainly divided into two parts: the converter part and the voltage detector and control part. The converter section contains two charge pumps, two high frequency buck/boost converters and one LDO, which output voltage will be detected by the voltage detector. The voltage detector then signals the control circuit, which uses the control loop to adjust the on-time of the switches and maintain stable output voltage, as well as to prevent over-current, over-voltage and short-circuit damage. The current-sensing circuit is connected in parallel with the output inductor, and can develop a voltage that is proportional to the output current. The voltage of the current-sensing circuit is compared to the reference voltage outputted by the control circuit, and according to the different voltage values, the error amplifier plate immediately turn off the switch, thereby preventing the power supply from being damaged by over current.
