TP70918DRVT is a 3.3V/5V micro-power voltage regulator with low quiescent current, high output accuracy and high ripple rejection. It can operate over a wide input supply voltage range of 1.6 V to 5.5 V, and is laterally compensated to offer excellent load and line regulation. Little additional input and output capacitors are required making the TPS70918DRVT suitable for applications such as low power micro controllers, MP3 players and digital cameras.The TPS70918DRVT is made using a proprietary CMOS process that enables the integration of multiple voltage regulators on a single monolithic die. The device features a high output-drive capability (up to 100 mA) which is typically achieved with 5 V supplies. The regulator operates from an input voltage of up to 5.5 V and can produce a regulated voltage of either 3.3 V or 5 V, depending upon the selection of the resistor values, if required.Due to the low quiescent current, the TPS70918DRVT is suitable for battery powered system applications. It can provide the regulated output voltage in spite of input supply and load current excursions. The stability of the output voltage is ensured with a small output capacitor of 47 uF.
