Working Principle of TPS7201QD
The TPS7201QD Regulator features an internal trans-conductance voltage regulator. The core of the device consists of a low-noise, low-dropout linear regulator (LDO) formed by an Infineon BIPOLAR TIP Darlington transistor, boosted by a P-Channel MOSFET to increase the output current capability up to 600mA. The regulator operates in current mode control and provides both line and load transient response.
The TPS7201QD features a low-noise internal band gap reference with a typical output voltage of 1.24V ± 2mV. The device has an internal voltage error amplifier that allows the user to adjust the output voltage using a resistor divider. This resistor divider also provides a reference for the overload protection circuit. The output voltage is further stabilized by a voltage comparator connected to an open-drain power FET.
