Working Principle

The TPS76927DBVR is a linear voltage regulator and is based on a classic two-terminal three-terminal principle. The device works based of the Voltage Dropping Principle, whereby the regulator reduces the supply voltage via the voltage divider formed by the two resistors, Ri and Ro, and the output voltage adjusts accordingly.

The device regulates the output voltage during load and line variations with excellent Transient Response and Load Regulation (±1%, 10% to 100% load). In addition, TPS76927DBVR features an ultra-low dropout (ULDO) design that enables it to work efficiently even at very low input voltages and very high output current levels.

The device is made using advanced 0.35?m CMOS process, so it has very low dropout voltage (400mV, typical) and a wide temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).
