The TPS77601D is a highly integrated low quiescent current linear voltage regulator developed by Texas Instruments. This device integrates internal FETs, current limit and thermal protection. The on-chip FETs provide efficiencies much higher than those of linear regulators while delivering superior transient response and high reliability.The TPS77601D is convenient to use because it includes a reference input pin, feedback input pin and enable pin. This device\'s high performance, low quiescent current, low dropout voltage and wide input voltage range make it ideal for point of load (POL) applications. It is also used in cell phones and other mobile devices, as well as industrial and automotive applications.The TPS77601D is a linear voltage regulator that is designed to regulate the output voltage from a supply voltage. This device works by comparing the output voltage with a reference voltage. When the output voltage is higher than the reference voltage, the internal circuitry restricts the current to maintain the voltage within tolerance. When the input voltage rises above the reference voltage, the output voltage will rise due to increasing current; however, the regulation is maintained as the current is limited.The internal circuitry of the TPS77601D consists of a pass N-channel FET, a current-sense amplifier, a voltage reference, a feedback amplifier and an enable circuit.
