TPS77615PWP Application Field and Working Principle

The TPS77615PWP is a linear voltage regulator designed for power management applications in which input-voltage-regulation is required. The device is a low dropout (LDO) three-terminal regulator that provides very high performance, low quiescent current, and low dropout voltage. The device permits very tight regulation while delivering up to 1.5 A of output current. The device is designed to maintain an output voltage over a wide current range, thus eliminating the need for external voltage-sense circuitry.

The TPS77615PWP is available in an 8-pin LLP with a total height of 1.2 mm and is offered in a 1.5 V, 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 2.85 V, 3.3 V, 3.5 V, 3.6 V, and 4.15 V fixed output voltage models. The regulator is stable with 1.0 μF ceramic output capacitance. The device requires 1.5 mm of clearance from the internal thermal pad for optimum thermal performance.
