Working Principle

TPS77633PWPG4 integrates proprietary, advanced thin film process technology to
create a small size, low quiescent current, and low dropout linear regulator. It
features high-performance voltage regulation, reverse battery protection, over
temperature protection, and short-circuit protection capabilities. It also includes
precision output voltage accuracy.

The device features an integrated P-channel MOSFET to provide power to the
regulated output voltage. This enables it to draw a negligible standby current from
the input source and provides accurate voltage regulation over a wide range of
input voltages. The integrated protection functions guard against device failure due
to overload, short circuit, reverse battery, and over temperature conditions.

TPS77633PWPG4 is designed to maintain the accuracy of the output voltage by
monitoring the feedback voltage and adjusting the MOSFET gate voltages. This
regulated output is also capable of supplying transients up to 3A and can support
faster load steps with minimal voltage droop. Additionally, the device supports soft
start, which reduces inrush current on startup to prevent over current and latch-off
in the system. It is available in the 3.3V version.
