TPS77825PWPR is a fixed output, low-dropout linear voltage regulator from Texas Instruments. It includes protections such as overcurrent and thermal shutdown and optionally a power-good flag. Working Principle

The TPS77825PWPR is a low-dropout two-Terminal linear regulator. It consists of an internal error amplifier, a current limiter, a temperature compensated reference, and a high-current output stage. The output voltage of the TPS77825PWPR is determined by the value of an external resistor divider. The output voltage can be set between 1.20 V and 20 V by the selection of two external resistors. The input voltage must be at least higher than the output voltage at all settings. The quiescent current of the device is typically 40 μA.

When the TPS77825PWPR is in regulation, the error amplifier senses the output voltage and a current is injected into the base of the output transistor in order to maintain the output voltage.
