The TPS79927 series are low quiescent current, 200 mA linear voltage regulators from Texas Instruments that feature one of the highest output voltage accuracy of its class. The device is designed to provide a stable output voltage over a broad input voltage range, and therefore find applications in controlling battery-operated equipment, as well as systems that require a low-dropout voltage regulator at high-current loads. The TPS79927DRVR has a wide input voltage range of 2.8 to 28 V and can provide an output voltage of 1.2 to 9 V. Additionally, the TPS79927 regulator features a wide temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It also has an output current regulation of 5% over the specified temperature range and is able to operate with a dropout voltage as low as 170 mV.

In order to maintain its high output voltage accuracy and to minimize noise, the TPS79927DRVR utilizes an integrated precision reference. It is also equipped with an enable pin that allows the output voltage to be regulated to 0.5 V when disabled, consuming only 0.1  uA between the in and out pins.
