IntroductionTheTPS7A39EVM-865, manufactured by Texas Instruments (TI), is a general-purpose evaluation board to evaluate the capabilities of TI’s TPS7A39 linear voltage regulator (LVR). It is designed for a variety of applications related to precision low-voltage power supplies. It supports devices with a wide input voltage range (2.5 V to 5.5 V) and is capable of delivering output currents as high as 1 A. Utilizing the latest in TI’s proprietary power management control technology, the TPS7A39EVM-865 is an excellent choice for applications requiring advanced low-voltage power delivery.Physical OverviewThe TPS7A39EVM-865 is a complete, ready-to-use evaluation system that enables customers to quickly evaluate the features and performance of the TPS7A39. It includes TPS7A39-MP1 dual-channel LVR module, cabling, power adapter and various peripherals such as a PC control interface, ANT and thermistor. The board measures 75×30 mm in size and features an arrow pointing to the output voltage selection jumpers. The entire system can be powered via USB or wall outlet.On the back edge of the board meter runs an optimized feedback loop with an open-loop gain of 40 dB. The board also includes a thermistor to measure temperature inside the package and an on-board precision analog amplifier for monitoring and diagnosis purposes.
