TPS7A8300ARGWR is one of voltage regulators within the TPS7A8xxx family of adjustable, low-noise, low-dropout linear regulators (LDOs). It is designed to deliver up to 0.8 A of continuous output current while capable of transient up to 2 A. The input voltage range is 3.6 V to 18 V and the output voltage range is 0.8 V to 5.5 V. This type of voltage regulator used to match the voltage of different levels with a small voltage fluctuation.

The TPS7A8300ARGWR device utilizes an innovative architecture to achieve low-noise output of 11 μV RMS over a 10 kHz-100 kHz frequency range. With a low quiescent current of 25 μA and an enable response time of 90 μs, the device is optimized for a wide range of off-line and portable applications. Other features of the device include an adjustable current limit and a power good status output.

The basic working principle of linear regulators is simple. The input voltage is connected to a transistor which regulates the current flowing through the output load to the ground.
