Working Principle

TQN25A-48S12-R DC-DC converters use a switched-mode architecture to convert dc input voltages to dc output voltages. A single power switch is used to transfer energy from input to output via a storage capacitor and a transformer. The switched-mode architecture is able to offer much higher efficiency than linear regulators and is usually better suited to applications where you need a constant output voltage regardless of the input voltage.

Using an inductor, a noisy pulseWidth regulated switching power supply creates high frequency alternating current at the secondary side of the transformer. The self-resonant capacitors are used to reduce the harmonics and switchings generated by the ripple. The ripple voltage, with the combination of the diode rectification, is finally transformed into dc output through the output capacitor filter.
