Tantalum Capacitors
Tantalum Capacitors, denoted by their reference code TR3D337K6R3C0100, are part of a family of capacitors used in electronics called the electrolytic capacitors. Working Principle
The principle of operation of the tantalum capacitor is that two contacts, made of tantalum and the electrolyte, are separated by a dielectric. When a voltage is applied across the capacitor, the current flows through the capacitor in the same direction. This current creates a charge on one of the terminals, and as the charge increases, electrons start to flow from the other terminal, thus creating a current flow. This in turn produces a voltage, or a charge, across the capacitor. This charge will remain in the capacitor until the current is switched off, which allows for longer duration energy storage.
