In this article, the application field and working principle of the TS051F23CET crystal will be discussed.The TS051F23CET is mainly used in the fields of wireless communication, portable electronic devices, as well as measuring and controlling devices requiring high-precision timing. The TS051F23CET is a frequency-precision SMD type crystal. Its frequency range is 5 - 90MHz, and frequency accuracy range is 0.2 to 3ppm. It is a low voltage SMD type crystal and its operating voltage is not higher than 1.8V. It does not require preamplification and is suitable for use in low noise environments, such as medical and telecommunications equipment. For applications where low power consumption is important, the TS051F23CET is ideal due to its low current consumption of 1.2mA max.The working principle of the TS051F23CET crystal is based upon the pullable quartz crystal oscillator. This is a solid-state oscillator concept which utilizes the piezo-electric effect. The quartz crystal‘s natural resonance frequency is determined by the size, shape and thickness of the quartz blank and the way it has been cut as well as the mechanical load applied to it.The TS051F23CET crystal utilizes the piezo-electric effect of quartz and works along with a parallel resonance circuit determined by its load capacitance, the amplitude of the output signal is the product of the circuit load capacitance and the amplitude of the quartz crystal. The circuit damping factor determines the frequency stability and resolution of the oscillator. The value of the circuit damping factor must be equal to the quartz crystal damping factor to achieve the best performance of the crystal.The frequency of the quartz crystal can be tuned. The amount of frequency tuning is determined by the equation: F = Fo + Fc * (1-G) where Fo is the fundamental frequency, Fc is the tuning capacitance, G is the tuning coefficient.
