TS153F33CET Application Field and Working Principle

Crystal oscillators in general are used to generate signals of precise frequencies ranging from a few hertz to hundreds of megahertz. Operating Mechanism

At their core, TS153F33CET crystal oscillators are based on the Gibbs or the Colpitts oscillator circuit topologies and as a result both these circuits are essential to understanding how these oscillators work. The TS153F33CET oscillators function through the use of a pair of crossed feedback amplifiers and an embedded quartz crystal balance. First the quartz crystal is placed between the two feedback amplifiers. Then the amplifiers through the aid of an applied voltage and the crystal act to generate oscillation at an untuned frequency. At this frequency the two amplifiers will cancel each other out and this frequency is then used to measure the capacitance of the crystal and serve as a base for later calculations. Then when the crystal is added as a feedback element, oscillation is generated at a frequency known as the resonating frequency of the crystal. Thus, when the same oscillator is provided with a compatible crystal, then that particular crystal oscillator can generate a stable and intrinsically precise frequency.

Applications
