The TS3DDR32611EVM Evaluation Board is an evaluation platform programmed to help evaluate Texas Instruments\' TS3DDR32611, a dualchannel, integrated step-down voltage regulator featuring highly efficient operation, accurate load line regulation, and low dropout operation. The TS3DDR32611EVM works in both energy-efficient DC/DC (off-line) and AC/DC (off-line) switching modes. The evaluation kit provides a reliable platform for engineers and designers to quickly evaluate the performance of the integrated power solution – TS3DDR32611.
The TS3DDR32611EVM board incorporates two complete synchronous rectified buck regulator power stages, each delivering up to 5A output current. The EVM board also has sensing resistor networks on both outputs to measure the regulated current into the load. It allows the user to adjust the output voltage of the regulator from 1.26V to 5V with a single external resistor. Both regulators are synchronized to the system clock to reduce the ripple noise and to ensure that the regulator is operating in the optimal current-mode control. The device has programmable output frequency (fixed and adjustable) and provides guaranteed transient performance and load operating area region. With a selectable input voltage range of between 3V and 6V, the device is ideal for powering a variety of system components.
The TS3DDR32611EVM evaluation board also has dedicated features for protections such as over-voltage protection, over-current protection, under-voltage lockouts and thermal shutdown, which will help to protect the system from potential failures. It also features a Guided Quick Start Guide which provides step-by-step instructions for connecting the device to a power supply, stepper motors, or an oscilloscope.
