TXS2-LT-3V is a type of signal relay most commonly used for industrial automation and control applications. This 12V DC relay is available in single and double pole configurations and can continuously carry a current of up to 2 amps. It is ideal for switching low-power/low-voltage signals such as PLCs and actuator controls. The TXS2-LT-3V works by closing two contacts to complete an electrical circuit. The internal contacts consist of a thin metal strip in the relay\'s coil box, energized when the coil is energized. This causes the relay contact to switch and open/close the circuit. The relay\'s coil is driven by a voltage applied across its terminals. When energized, the coil creates a magnetic field which causes the internal contacts to move and open/close the circuit. The coil\'s voltage and current is determined by its external resistance, also known as the coil resistance. When energized, the coil is held in a “latch” position by the magnetic field, so that the contacts remain closed even if the coil is de-energized. This means that the relay can be used to switch repeatedly without having to be reenergized. Once the contacts are opened, the latch is released, and the contacts switch back to the open position. The TXS2-LT-3V is designed with a high-reliability contact arrangement, so that the two contacts never touch and remain in close proximity to each other. This prevents wear and arcing of the contacts, thus reducing contact bounce. The relay operates between -55°C and 125°C so it can be used in harsher industrial environments.
