The UCC2805D is an advanced 2-A continuous, 180-mΩ driver current peak, synchronous Buck-Boost control circuit. It is a highly integrated single-stage synchronous Buck-Boost controller from Texas Instruments Inc. The UCC2805D is designed to provide a high-efficiency, low-EMI, compact, low-cost and scalable solution for a wide range of AC-DC and DC-DC applications. Furthermore, it can be used for both low-voltage applications such as 12V-to-3.3V conversion, as well as high-voltage applications such as a 76V-to-5V conversion.

The UCC2805D was designed to provide the correct voltage to the load with minimum disturbance to the system. It features a fixed frequency, current-mode operation with an adjustable peak current limit. The current-mode operation enhances the system stability, reduces ringing, and minimizes external circuitry, especially in voltage regulation or current-limit applications. The current limit can be reduced or increased on a per-cycle basis and can be programmed using an external control voltage. An internal 5-bit DAC can be used to set the current limit to the desired value.

The UCC2805D includes integrated functions like powergood, soft-start, voltage tracking, skip mode, and adjustable switching frequency for improved system performance. It also provides protection circuits for over-voltage (UVLO), under-voltage lockout (UVLO), over-temperature, short-circuit protection and load current monitor. Additionally, the UCC2805D offers temperature compensation for improved thermal performance and efficiency.
