With optimized phase noise and good frequency stability, the UMX-270-D16-G is an ideal choice for various UWB and ISM applications, including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint millimeter-wave communications.The UMX-270-D16-G is a wideband, voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) device with a range of digital tuning pins to control the frequency and phase of the output signal. The digital tuning control is enabled through the input port. The device includes a low noise buffer amplifier and a VCO amplifier. The device has a low noise output buffer amplifier which provides low noise performance as well as a high linearity to the output signal. The VCO amplifier’s gain is adjustable through the external capacitors, enabling the user to adjust the VCO gain over a large range; from -180dB to -260dB.The UMX-270-D16-G has an optimized low frequency control system, allowing for large and rapid frequency changes. The low frequency control system is enabled through an internal control loop and external resistors. By modifying the external resistors, the user can achieve various frequency control settings. Also, the device has a wide tuning voltage range from 0.8V to 2.6V. This allows for precise control of frequency and phase.The UMX-270-D16-G has an integrated low-Q power-down mode which provides a low power consumption with a surprisingly low noise level. The low-Q mode provides a low quality factor (Q) on the output.
