Inductors are components which store energy. In the simplest case, an inductor is a coil of wire. The coil stores energy due to the current passing through it. Inductors are used in applications such as filters, transformers, and matching networks.The UP2SC-220-R is a fixed inductor which is suitable for various types of applications. It provides excellent electrical performance, with high inductance stability and very low DC resistance. It has a maximum operating temperature of 125°C and a rated dissipation power of 950mW.The UP2SC-220-R is based on the sealed winding core structure. This provides excellent electro-magnetic characteristics, along with a high stability in the operating environment. The inductor has high current and temperature coefficients, meaning that it offers superior performance compared to other types of inductors.The UP2SC-220-R is designed for general use, with a wide range of applications. It is suitable for use in DC-DC converters, medical equipment, switching power supplies, linear power supplies, and other applications. It is also suitable for use in power supplies, AC–DC converters, and current-sensing applications. The inductor is available in a range of inductance values, from 10nH–220nH.The UP2SC-220-R’s working principle is based on Faraday’s Law of Induction. This states that a voltage is induced in a conductor if it passes through a magnetic field, and is proportional to the rate of change of the magnetic flux. This means that the inductor will produce an electrical current as long as the surrounding flux is changing.In a DC-DC converter application, the UP2SC-220-R acts as a filter, trapping a portion of the DC current and preventing it from flowing back into the power supply. By doing this, the converter is able to prevent unwanted disturbances from being transmitted back into the power source.In an AC–DC converter application, the UP2SC-220-R acts as an input filter, trapping an induced voltage and preventing it from being transmitted to the device being powered. This prevents unwanted noise from being generated which could damage the device.The UP2SC-220-R is a versatile fixed inductor which offers excellent performance for a range of applications. It is based on a sealed winding core structure which offers superior electro-magnetic performance and high stability, and is available in a range of inductance values. The inductor works on the principle of Faraday’s Law of Induction, and is suitable for use in DC-DC converters, AC–DC converters, power supplies, and current-sensing applications.
