<p>The UPD5713TK-EVAL is a RF Evaluation and Development Kit, Boards from Toshiba Electronic Devices &amp; Storage Corporation. It is designed to evaluate RF (radio frequency) modules with a focus on emerging needs for low-power wireless connectivity. It was developed with the goal of creating a comprehensive evaluation kit for rapid evaluation of wireless technologies and protocol stacks, including IEEE 802.15.4 and Bluetooth&trade; Low Energy.</p><p>The UPD5713TK-EVAL consists of two component boards: an Evaluation Board and a Reference Board. The Evaluation Board is designed for evaluation of RF modules, including the UPD5713 module specifically, and for evaluation of wireless protocols, such as IEEE 802.15.4 and Bluetooth Low Energy. The Reference Board is designed to transmit and receive radio signals and interface to the Evaluation Board.</p><p>The UPD5713TK-EVAL contains a wide range of components for RF evaluation and development, starting with the UPD5713 RF module, which covers the 2.4 GHz frequency range and contains a programmable radio, antenna, circuits for power management and an MCU (Microcontroller Unit). The Evaluation Board also contains two terminal boards, which come with a variety of interface options including UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) for communication with the serial port of the PC, as well as an I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) and SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) bus for connecting external components. It also includes on-board components for test and evaluation such as LEDs, Shields, Switches, and Connectors.</p><p>The UPD5713TK-EVAL Evaluation Board is also equipped with a radio-testing socket that supports the popular monolithic IC “Murata LBEE5KL1DX”. This allows the user to quickly access the radio performance capabilities of the UPD5713 RF module. The board supports up to 8 radio channels and can be used to perform manual or automated testing of the radio performance parameters of the module.</p><p>The Evaluation Board also contains an on-board debugger, which can be used for debugging the RF network and protocols. This includes transmitting logs for debugging and other related aspects of RF communication, as well as a graphical user interface (GUI) for configuration, configuration monitoring and control of parameters, sending and receiving data packets over the network, and other related aspects.</p><p>In summary, the UPD5713TK-EVAL is an RF Evaluation and Development Kit, Boards from Toshiba Electronic Devices &amp; Storage Corporation.
